I have an issue with mold in and on my Hemplime walls. The surface seems to be an easy fix I think! What concerns me is the few areas we have mold in the wall. Our plaster flakes off or is crumbing where the mold is concentrated. I have also found some mold in my bales of hemp, not much but discoloration of some of the hurd. This is a test cabin so we can get our recipes figured out and building techniques before we build the main house. We dug out an area that was most problematic. Added a lime paste and some screws to key in the new hemp. My hope is someone out there that has had this problem can help me out.
Mold in hemplime can be a challenge in construction, but proper care and technique solve it. Lightening tough discussions with a few stupid jokes can make even technical topics easier to handle.
